Anthony Iannacchione receives Distinguished Member Award from SME Pittsburgh Section2013-09-06

PITTSBURGH (September 6, 2013) ... Anthony T. Iannacchione, PhD , Associate Professor and Director of Mining Engineering, is the 2013 recipient of the Distinguished Member Award from the Society of Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration Pittsburgh Section.

Dr. Iannacchione will receive the award at the 2013 SME/PCMIA Annual Joint Meeting on Friday, October 25. The award also makes him eligible for nomination as a National Distinguished Member for SME.

Dr. Iannacchione is associate professor of civil and environmental engineering and director of the mining engineering program at the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering. He earned his BS in Geology from California State College, and his MS in Earth and Planetary Science and MS and PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
