First annual DOE Grid Technologies Collaborative National Conference set for June 10 in Arlington

PITTSBURGH  (May 23, 2013) ... Registration is open for the first annual Department of Energy (DOE) Grid Technologies Collaborative (GTC) National Conference on June 10, 2013 in Arlington, Virginia.

The GTC is an organization of the DOE National Energy Technology Laboratory's Regional University Alliance (NETL-RUA) -- an integrated industry/university/government research & development group that advances the state-of-the-art in transmission and distribution system power electronics technologies. The GTC includes five nationally recognized research universities, a national laboratory, and a worldwide engineering and construction firm.

The conference will open with a keynote address by Patricia Hoffman, Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability. The conference will include several concurrent workshops, each addressing a particular area of research focus, with GTC technical lead members working with invited guests to develop plans for advancing our mission and activities in order to address critical industry needs in the area of power electronics technology developments and applications.
