MEMS alumnus Robert Rumcik recognized by ASM with International Distinguished Life Membership

PITTSBURGH (October 20, 2015) ... Robert E. Rumcik, retired President of Ellwood Quality Steels at the Ellwood Group, Inc. (EGI), was recognized with the prestigious ASM International Distinguished Life Membership award at the annual ASM Conference, which was held Dinner in Columbus, Ohio this year.

ASM established the Distinguished Life Membership in 1954 to recognize leaders who have devoted their time, knowledge and abilities to the advancement of the materials industries. 

After working as a metallurgist at Crucible Steel, Mr. Rumcik joined EGI in 1981, and has led Ellwood Quality Steels since its inception in 1985. He served as an infantry officer in the US Army, including a tour of duty in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division. He serves as a Director of Jameson Health System, Inc. and Ellwood Group, Inc. Mr. Rumcik holds a BS in Metallurgy from the University of Pittsburgh and serves on the Visiting Committee of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science.
