New CMI Fellow Highlight: Rey Ravi

Summary

This fall, Rey Ravi joins the CMI Team as a fellow to the Center of Medical Innovation. A former undergraduate at the University of Pittsburgh and a current student at the Masters of Medical Product Engineering program, he will be responsible for updating the website and assisting in recruitment events. Rey's background is greatly involved in clinical research - as an undergraduate student working under Dr. Spandan Maiti, he worked on developing computational biomechanical models for representing stresses in thoracic aneurysms, and he has worked at the Artificial Heart Program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in both patient care and clinical projects. He is currently working on projects relating to mobile perfusion systems and device simulation. He looks forward to helping the Center of Medical Innovation branch out in recruitment and be involved with the program's goals in turning clinical research into entrepreneurship opportunities.
