BioE Grad Student Anna Bailes Elected as ASB Student Representative

The American Society of Biomechanics (ASB) has selected Anna Bailes, graduate student in bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh, to serve as a Student Representative on the ASB Executive Board.

The Student Representative is responsible for managing student members of ASB, collaborating with the Executive Board, encouraging student involvement in ASB, organizing student-focused events, and serving the interests of student members.

“I was interested in getting more involved in leadership role within ASB and making connections with investigators and students across the nation,” said Bailes. “I’m excited to meet and collaborate with others passionate about biomechanics research and its applications.”

Bailes is a fifth year DPT/PhD student in bioengineering. She was elected by ASB student members and will serve a two-year term, during which she will be a voting participant at all Executive Board meetings.

“I was very grateful to have received so much support from fellow student members, and I am looking forward to getting to know other ASB members across institutions, both trainees and independent investigators,” she said.
