CivilE Professor Piervincenzo Rizzo Selected as ASNT Fellow

Piervincenzo Rizzo, associate professor of civil and environmental engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, has been selected as a Fellow of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) in the Class of 2022. 

ASNT members with at least 15 years of professional experience in nondestructive testing and 10 years of membership are eligible to be nominated as Fellows . Selected Fellows have demonstrated their support for the organization through contributions and participation. 

Rizzo’s work at the Swanson School of Engineering is focused on nondestructive evaluation, structural health monitoring, and how these technologies can be used in biomedical applications.

“I’m happy to see a renowned researcher like Dr. Rizzo honored by such a well-known organization for nondestructive testing,” said Radisav Vidic, professor and chair of civil and environmental engineering at Pitt. “His contributions in this field set him apart among his peers, and I look forward to his many future accomplishments.”
