Tamer S. Ibrahim to be inducted into 2024 AIMBE College of Fellows

Tamer S. Ibrahim, the John A. Swanson Professor of Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering, will be inducted into the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) College of Fellows at AIMBE’s annual event on March 24, 2024. 

AIMBE Fellows represent the top two percent of medical and biological engineers, including the most accomplished in academia, industry, education, clinical practice, and government. Ibrahim is currently director of the 7 Tesla (7T) Bioengineering Research Program (7TBRP) and co-director of the Bioengineering in Psychiatry (BiP) T32 Training Program, and he works predominantly on ultrahigh field human MRI developments and applications.. 

Ibrahim was nominated for these breakthrough innovations with ultrahigh field human MRI and for his transformational impact across neuroimaging research and interdisciplinary training. Once inducted, he will join Interim Chair of Bioengineering Mark Redfern and over thirty current and former Pitt faculty members with this prestigious accolade.
