Two Swanson School Faculty among 2023 Highly Cited Researchers List

Swanson School of Engineering professors Amir H. Alavi and Guofeng Wang are among 23 researchers from the University of Pittsburgh are included on the 2023 Highly Cited Researchers list from Clarivate. The data and analytics company designated 7,125 researchers to the list nationwide this year, and each researcher selected has authored multiple Highly Cited Papers which rank in the top 1% by citations for their fields and publication year over the past decade.

"I am honored and humbled to be named to the list. This recognition fuels my passion for impactful research, and I am thankful to those who have supported and collaborated on this journey, said Alavi, who is assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering with secondary appointments in bioengineering and mechanical engineering and materials science.

“This ranking helps to show the impact of Swanson School research to the broader scientific community, and I’m proud to be listed for the second year,” said Wang, professor of mechanical engineering and materials science.

Pitt’s recognized researchers include faculty from the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, School of Medicine, School of Public Health and Swanson School of Engineering, with research interests ranging from immunology to nanoparticles. See the full list.
